Dayna was born in a small town in East Texas and moved to Dallas in 1977. She got her start through pageants and a modeling troupe in Dallas. They traveled around doing fashion shows, mannequin modeling, print, and floor modeling for different companies. In that time she taught runway and mannequin modeling as well a coordinated many of the shows.
At an audition in 1992 she was chosen to go to Peter Sklars acting camp in Pennsylvania where she spent a week learning from several professionals as well as a diction coach (thus the lack of her former Southern twang). After the camp she spent a month in NY doing commercials and performing at Circle in the Square theatre.
Dayna later returned home and signed with the Campbell agency for a year. She did commercials and extra roles in films. Her interest in modeling and acting led to the interest in makeup and she spent the next couple of years perfecting her skills as a makeup artist. Dayna worked for many companies and slowly moved into freelancing with photographers which led her back in front of the camera. Modeling now occupies the majority of her time.
